Paneer Bhurji (पनीर भुर्जी )

Good Morning people...Back to the grind after a nice weekend.Though had a huge 'To Do' list , felt good after giving a meticulous re-touch to the house :-) Saturday is a working day for hubby and he generously tells me not to make lunch for him so that i don't have to get up early :-) So i always make sure that i cook something of his choice for dinner. Was just wondering what to cook and suddenly remembered that he had mentioned 'Paneer Bhurji' few days ago. TA DA ....So here comes the recipe :

Ingredients :
  • Paneer - 250 gms (crumbled)
  • 1 onion -chopped into thin slices
  • 1 small Tomato -finely chopped
  • 3-4 Green Chillies - finely chopped
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1 tablespoon
  • A pinch of Turmeric Powder
  • Dhania Powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Pav-Bhaji Masala- 1 teaspoon
  • Oil- 1 small spoon
Time to cook: 20 minutes
Serves: 2 people

Method: 
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds , ginger-garlic paste , sliced onions and tomato
  • Saute till the onions turn soft and brown
  • Add turmeric powder ,crumbled paneer and salt. Cook on low flame for 7-8 minutes.Some people like to have a crunchy taste to the paneer. So stir it on high flame for few seconds before serving it.
  • Add dhania powder and Pav-Bhaji Masala . Mix well
  • Garnish it with fresh coriander .Serve with roti or you can also make yummy sandwiches

The dish is simple and fast to cook and you can add a lot of variety to it. Instead of tomatoes , you can also add Capsicum and sprinkle Chat Masala for a tangy taste. Also, if you don't have much time , use Paneer Cubes which make life much simpler. I used Amul Paneer Cubes.To der kis baat ki..Try it today.. Happy Cooking !
