Coriander Paneer Tikka
Cooking is an art which gives you immense pleasure even when you know that you are not going to eat the dish for which you are taking so much effort. Paneer is on the top of my ‘don’t like’ list but no denying the fact that soft and tender paneer with its versatility, makes it most desirable among the food lovers. Till date, I have a hands-on experience with Matar Paneer, Chilly Paneer, Paneer Rolls, Paneer Paratha’s and what not but this was the first time I thought of making tikka. So I tried making this ‘Coriander Paneer Tikka’ which was something we call ‘effortless cooking’. I tried my best to make it look like one straight from the barbequeJ) Here comes the recipe:
Ingredients:
- 250 gms fresh Paneer-cut into thick cubes
- 200 gms thick fresh curds
- 1 medium Capsicum –cut into cubes
- 1 medium Onion- thinly sliced
- 1 medium tomato- cut into thick rings
- 1 tablespoon Ginger-Garlic-Green Chilly paste
- 2 tablespoons Green Coriander Paste
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 teaspoon Red Chilly Powder
- 1 teaspoon Chat Masala
- Salt to taste
- Oil for shallow frying
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 2
Method:
· For the marinade, mix curds, ginger-garlic-green chilly paste, coriander pate, salt, turmeric powder, chilly power and salt. Mix well to make a smooth paste.
· Put paneer cubes. Make sure to cover the cubes from all sides.
· Arrange them in a platter and refrigerate it for 1 and half hour.
· After an hour, arrange the marinated cubes on a skewer or toothpick.
· Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the marinated paneer cubes by turning each side till the coating becomes light brown.
· In the remaining oil, fry the Capsicum cubes till they become tender. Sprinkle some salt.
· Now arrange the tomato rings and fried capsicum cubes with the Paneer tikka and sprinkle some chaat masala.
· Serve hot with a dip of your choice.
A perfect blend of the soft and juicy flavor of the paneer and the spicy taste of the marinade makes it a lip-smacking one. Its can be a perfect accompaniment for an evening tea party. It can also be served with roti or as a starter. So try it today and revert with your feedback ! HAPPY COOKING !!
