Sesame -Garlic Pasta

Off late Pasta has become one of our favorite weekend recipes. Dressed in infinite combination of ingredients, you will always see a new avataar of pasta. Till date i have made pasta with different ingredients -but the one in tomato puree remains my favorite. This time I wanted to try a dressing which i had not tried earlier . So thought of using the garlic-sesame combination which are common ingredients for making an authentic maharashtrian curry. Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups boiled Penne Pasta
  • 4-6 Garlic Cloves
  • 3 tspn Sesame Seeds
  • 2 tspn Red Chilly flakes
  • 1 medium Red Bell Pepper-finely chopped
  • 1 small Onion-finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Cauliflower Florets
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tspn Pepper Powder
  • 1 1/2 tspn oil
Preparation Time: 20 mins

Cooking Time: 10 mins

Method:
  • Toast the sesame seeds and grind them with garlic cloves to coarse mixture . Keep a spoon of this mixture aside. Add some water to remaining mixture and grind to a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Saute the chopped bell peppers , cauliflower florets and onions .
  • Add red chilly flakes and pepper powder. Cook for a minute.
  • Add the boiled pasta , sesame-garlic paste and salt.Mix well.
  • Let it cook for 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander and 1/2 tspn garnishing of the remaining sesame-garlic mixture.
I have added a little bit of tomato sauce for the tangy taste but its optional. HAPPY COOKING !!
